1. Who we are

RIDNETAXI LIMITED ("RidneTaxi", "we", "us", "our") is a licensed passenger transport operator based in Raphoe, County Donegal, Ireland. We operate the website ridnetaxi.ie and the booking experience at ridnetaxi.ondelight.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data when you contact us, visit our site or book a ride.

2. What data we collect

Contact details: name, phone number and email when you text, WhatsApp, email or call us, or when you create an account in our booking app.
Trip details: pickup point, destination, time, vehicle assigned, ride history and any notes you share.
Payment data: processed by our booking provider (Ondelight) and the card networks. We do not store full card numbers ourselves.
Site usage data: anonymised page views and basic device data, only if you accept analytics cookies. See our Cookies Policy.

3. Why we use it

To provide your ride — confirming, dispatching and completing your trip (contractual necessity).
To bill, refund and keep tax records (legal obligation under Irish Revenue rules).
To respond to support and complaints (legitimate interest).
To improve our service and run marketing — only with your consent (consent).

4. How long we keep it

Trip and billing data: 6 years (Irish Revenue requirement).
Direct communications (SMS, WhatsApp, email): up to 2 years after last contact, then deleted.
Analytics data: up to 14 months.

5. Who we share data with

We share only what is needed, and only with parties under appropriate contracts or legal duties:

The driver fulfilling your trip.
Ondelight (our booking platform) and its sub-processors.
Payment processors handling your card transaction.
Our accountants and auditors, under confidentiality.
Authorities, where required by Irish law (for example An Garda Síochána, Revenue, the National Transport Authority).

We do not sell your data to third parties.

6. International transfers

Some of our service providers are based outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we rely on the European Commission's adequacy decisions or on Standard Contractual Clauses to keep your data protected to EU standards.

7. Your rights under the GDPR

You can ask us to:

See what we hold about you (access);
Correct it (rectification);
Delete it (erasure), where there is no legal reason to keep it;
Object to or restrict our processing;
Receive a copy in a portable format;
Withdraw consent you previously gave, at any time.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data — encryption in transit, access controls and limited retention. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page tells you when. For material changes, we will let booked riders know by SMS or email.
